Your project is unique, and we treat it that way!  However, there are a few industry-standard rules of thumb to help you estimate the cost of your writing project:

  • Original writing, manuals, reference works @ 3 pages/day

  • Editing of existing material @ 10 pages/day

  • Writer's Market, for example, gives $ hourly low/medium/and high ranges as well as per page rates for a variety of technical and non technical writing and communication projects.

  • For example:
    • Computer documentation or Newsletter writing - $35/60/100
    • Newsletter editing - $25/45/85
    • Web page writing/editing - $50/85/125
    • Non profit editing - $15/30/55
    • Book reviews - $22/50/175+
    • Proofreading - $15/30/55
